As an Educator, I am face with many decisions on a daily basis.Guidelines are used to set forth a balance to resolve common dilemmas in Early Childhood and Education.
1. To be familiar with the knowledge base of early childhood and education and to stay informed through continuing education and training (NAEYC, 2005).
2.We shall collaborate with families and colleagues in setting meaningful and relevant goals and priorities throughout the intervention process including the full disclosure of the nature, risk, potential outcomes of any interventions(DEC,2009).
3.To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child(NAEYC, 2005)
I feel these ideals are very imperative in the Early Childhood for improving the lives of young children and their families.
Angela,
ReplyDeleteI believe collaborating with families and colleagues is extremely important in our careers and important for the growth of all the children in our care. Is there anything you have learned from your experiences you would pass along to other colleagues?
I feel that training helps us to understand our children more and how to improve in areas we need help in. You can never get enough training. It helps to grow in the Early Childhood field everyday. I hope the different challenges you face help you and teach you more along the way.
ReplyDeleteAngela,
ReplyDeleteI also selected the code... "To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child." I feel that it really speaks on empowerment. By allowing the child to be who they are and genuinely accept them for that...gives them the opportunity to find their voice, strength, and courage.
Angela,
ReplyDeleteI too agree greatly with the ideal of "To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child," this is important in understanding how each child impressions the world as they grow. I feel that your choices show how much you value educating yourself, each child's family and the unique qualities that create the child to become a unique individual.
